I’m feeling confused about mine! It is listed in Fiction and while I do have some fiction craft content still, it’s morphed more into mindful living and writing of all kinds - therapeutic, life and memoir, journalling. So I feel like I need to change the category but don’t feel any of them really fit.
Thanks Amanda, it feels normal to morph as we go along.
I think we could do with some more categories too, there isn't one for mental health which I would like!
Is there no memoir category? Literature might fit? Or health and wellbeing as wellbeing may feel aligned with your work though not quite right I know. 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed this article! I am new to Substack this year. I’m enjoying it, but also look forward to connecting with others who have a similar focus. Glad to be here 😊
Appreciate you hosting this space, where we can find kindred spirits in the writing/therapy world, Kate. One of the most unexpected gifts of Substack has been the relationships and connections that have formed across the globe.
For those who don't know me, I'm a clinical psychologist based in Auckland, New Zealand (originally from the UK, where I trained in East London). My Substack is The Therapy Room, where I write about life and therapy, from both sides of the therapy room.

Congratulations on a successful year. I live in Wales UK. I am a poet and a Writing for Well-being Practitioner. x
Hi Karen, thanks so much. That sounds like a lovely combination. I’m a quarter welsh, I often think it’s my best part!
Congrats on a year, Kate! That went fast!

No, there’s no memoir. None of them feel quite right!
So annoying xx
