Hi friends
đ„ Welcome to The Campfire!đ„
The Campfire is a new monthly gathering for therapeutic writers to connect and uplift each other. If you're looking for inspiration, elevation, and connection, you're in the right place.
We are therapeutic writers from all backgrounds: professional therapists, psychologists, empaths, mental health and well-being writers, Substack newcomers and veterans. Wherever you are on your writing journey, this is our space to connect, and warm our hands and hearts.
This photo is a close up of a community tile wall by my local station. It reminded me of our work here, standing side by side bringing support, inspiration and growth to the world.
Itâs been a wonderful first month here, with 20 in our core community and 240 readers! Upgrade here to receive everything and support this space. To recap what you get read here.

đ„ The Campfire: Share Your Favourite Inspiring Quotes! âš
What ideas and phrases light your soul? Do inspiring quotes fill you with joy, or set your eyes rolling?
Sometimes my posts can feel a little flat, and I donât want to bore or lose subscribers that may benefit from my writing.
I love using quotes to illustrate points over at Letters from Therapy. I have one in my welcome email and dot them here and there. Well chosen quotes from wise souls that inform my therapeutic work, or those from life that fill me with delight.
Using Quotes Can:
Add depth - they help shine a light on our message, and shift out readers into alignment.
Help find the right words - If someone else's words capture our message, why not use them?
Feel connected - Incorporating others' words brings a sense of shared human experience that can be so comforting.
Enhance credibility - Referencing respected thinkers and established wisdom demonstrates our breadth of knowledge, research, and strengthens our readerâs trust.
Over to you! What is Your Favourite Quote?
Share your favourite inspiring quotes here, remembered from your theory, used in your writing, or one you hold in your mind to inspire you and others. Bonus points if they come from your own modality if you are a therapist.
Letâs be generous! By sharing it here you give other others permission to use it in their own posts: maybe there is one that is a perfect fit for a far off reader who needs to read it.
What is your favourite quote? Let us know in the comments. Iâve shared mine too.
With love,
Kate
I used to shoe-horn this one into as many essays as I could and still hold it in mind:
âLearn your theories as well as you can, but put them aside when you touch the miracle of the living soul.â Carl Jungâš
And this I share frequently - so succinct and gets to the heart of my work:
âLet go of who you think you are supposed to be, and embrace who you are.â BrenĂ© Brown âš
Oooh I love a good quote! Not academic, but I've always liked this by Tara Brach: âWhen we trust that we are the ocean, we're not afraid of the waves.â
